One of the most important files you will ever burn on your CNC plasma table is a free download.

This file measures 5.171" wide by 2.25" tall. Each area is a different thickness. Burn one out in a scrap area on a skelleton and find out what minimum spacing you need.

When you cut one of these testers, what you're looking for is breaks in the metal (aka burn through). Average seems to be around 0.15" using fine tip consumables. Some people need a little thicker.

You can change your cut settings and keep cutting them, fine tuning your machine.

Once you know what your minimum spacing is, you know how to adjust your files for a perfect cut every time.
